Après moi le déluge

I have published a post in the blog après moi le déluge. My post, in Spanish and titled "La expresión Après moi le déluge, y sus antecedentes clásicos", deals with the classical origins of the phrase itself Après moi le déluge, attributed either to King Louis XV of France or to his paramour Madame de Pompadour. I track possible models for the saying in a Greek tragic fragment, Seneca the Young, Lucretius, Diogenes the Cynic (apud Cicero), an epigram by Strato of Sardis and Diego Hurtado de Mendoza. See here.

Duplico el comentario que deje en Apres,
creo que tambien se ajusta a la idea lo siguiente:

soles occidere et redire possunt:
nobis cum semel occidit brevis lux,
nox est perpetua una dormienda.

Carmen 5 ( Catullus)

Excelente artículo Gabriel, siempre un placer leerte:)
